How to Make a Rose and Egg Yolk Facial Mask

A rose and egg yolk facial mask is a simple homemade mask that can be made in less than 20 minutes. Making your own homemade facial treatments will save you a great deal of money over going to the spa or buying commercial products, and the results are just as good. A rose and egg yolk facial mask will help rejuvenate tired skin while the honey and egg yolks will improve the skins elasticity. This recipe makes enough for one application. If you make more than one application, you can keep unused portions for up to one week in the refrigerator.

Instructions

Combine the rose flower water, rose essential oil and raw honey in a small saucepan and heat over low heat for one to two minutes or until the honey softens and dissolves.

Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool for four to five minutes. Add the beaten egg yolks and stir. Add the unbleached flour slowly, mixing constantly until the mixture becomes a thick, heavy paste.

Transfer the rose and egg yolk facial mask to a wide-mouth glass jar with a tight-fitting lid.

Apply a thick layer of the mask onto the face and neck, avoiding the areas around the eyes. Leave the facial mask on for 20 to 25 minutes then rinse with warm water. The flour is difficult to get off, so you may want to rinse it off in the shower with a soft loofah or washcloth.
