How to Get Permanent Marker Off Your Body

Anyone who has ever gotten permanent marker on their skin knows the pain of trying to get it off. Repeated washing with soap and water doesn't work, so most people just end up waiting for it to fade over time. But if you have a permanent marker stain on a body part that you just have to get rid of, say on your five-year-old's hands or maybe on your hung-over buddy's face, then you need to know some tricks for getting that supposedly "permanent" mark off.

Instructions

Rub the mark with a generous amount of antibacterial hand gel for about 10 minutes. You may want to apply some lotion to the spot afterward, as this method will dry out the skin.

Use rubbing alcohol to scrub the mark. This requires a lot of vigorous rubbing and will dry the skin out, so apply some lotion afterward. If the marker does not come all the way off, try washing with soap and water a few times and then use the rubbing alcohol again.

Apply make-up remover to a cotton ball and rub the mark. Because the cotton ball will absorb the make-up remover quickly, use enough to soak the cotton. This method is especially good for children because it does not require a lot of rubbing.
