Restylane is an injectable facial filler that temporarily smooths wrinkles and plumps lips. Similar to Botox, the injection is suitable for the hands and face and lasts 6 to 12 months. Those who would like to use Restylane must find a professional and consider their expectations.
Instructions
- 1
Find a trained professional to administer Restylane. Cheaper is not better. It's important to thoroughly research dermatologists and ask your friends and/or family for recommendations.
2Discuss your expectations with a trained professional. While Restylane can smooth wrinkles and enhance features, it is important to understand what can be achieved and what is physically impossible.
3Set aside time to recover. After the procedure, you may experience redness, bruising and swelling for a few days. To reduce swelling, apply a cold compress to the area. Avoid aspirin and high doses of Vitamin E, as they can exacerbate swelling.
4Avoid sun exposure and tanning. Exposure to heat can worsen swelling and redness.
5Schedule a follow-up treatment. Restylane's effects generally last between 6 to 12 months. Talk to your dermatologist about follow-up facial fillings.
