How to Get Rid of Bleach Smell on the Skin

Bleach, a household chemical commonly used for whitening laundry, sanitizing kitchens and bathrooms, and general cleaning, can leave a lingering scent if it comes into contact with your skin. Wearing gloves while you're cleaning can reduce the likelihood of this happening, but with Murphy's Law in effect, you're sure to splash yourself the one time you're too rushed to find your gloves. But washing the affected area with soap and water alone won't eliminate the unmistakable odor.

Instructions

Wash the affected area of your skin with soap and running water.

Pour 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar, mouthwash or fresh lemon juice into a small dish.

Dip a portion of a paper towel into the vinegar, mouthwash or fresh lemon juice and squeeze the towel lightly to remove excess liquid.

Wipe the vinegar, mouthwash or fresh lemon juice liberally onto the affected area of your skin and allow it to air dry.

Repeat steps 1 through 4 as necessary until no bleach smell remains.
