How to Make Goatmilk Soap

Goat's milk has a creamy, smooth texture and also provides your skin with essential nourishments from key ingredients of oils. Goat's milk soap is highly recommended for people with sensitive skin who may suffer from dry skin, acne, eczema, and psoriasis (see References). Goat's milk soaps can easily be handmade and it's the easiest to make when you use a cold soap-making process. The cold process involves using a cold milk, water, and lye mixture.

Instructions

Mix eight ounces of cold goat's milk and eight ounces of cold, distilled water in a medium-sized container. Add six and a half ounces of lye after you've stirred thoroughly. Continue stirring until the mix becomes a light brown color.

Let the lye, goat's milk, and water mixture sit for ten minutes at room temperature. After ten minutes the consistency of the mixture will look thick and chunky.

Add eight ounces of palm oil, one ounce of grapefruit seed extract, three ounces of ginger essential oil, 17 ounces of olive oil, and 17 ounces of coconut oil in a large mixing bowl. Mix the oils in the bowl before adding the lye, milk, and water mixture.

Add the lye mixture to the large bowl of oils. Mix the combination with a hand mixere at a medium speed.

Pour the final mixture into a soap mold. Soap molds can be found at most craft retail stores. Cover the mold with the mixture in it and let it sit in room temperature for up to 24 hours.
