How to Use Stretch Mark Cream for Wrinkles

Stretch marks are wrinkles and deformation of the skin caused by pregnancy or obesity, where the skin does not return to its previous state. Effective stretch mark creams typically contain ingredients called peptides, which promote the production of collagen in the skin. These same products can be used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles caused by the aging process.

Instructions

Choose a product based on its ingredients. See Resources for a link to explanations of various peptides and their effectiveness. Carefully read the ingredients list of any skin care product and make sure it does not contain any chemicals you are allergic to.

Apply a small amount of the cream to your elbow or forearm to ensure that it will not cause any discoloration or irritation to your skin. Wait 24 hours. If you notice any irritation or rash, discontinue use immediately.

Apply a sparing amount of cream to the areas of skin you wish to treat. Do not rub or stretch the skin. It's best to do this before bed time, after washing and rinsing the area with a mild soap. This will allow the ingredients to be absorbed into the skin overnight.

Softly tap the place where you applied the cream, using your fingers, for 30 seconds.

Follow the directions carefully for the product you have chosen as to how often and over what period of time to use the product.
