No one wants their skin to sag or wrinkle, but sadly, it is a part of life. However, when losing weight, this problem can become excessive and embarrassing. Fortunately, there are a number of things that you can do to prevent loose skin. Knowing how to prevent your skin from becoming loose and saggy will help enhance your appearance after an extreme weight loss.

    Diet at a healthy pace. A balanced, normal diet can go a long way in preventing loose skin. Crash dieting that causes rapid weight loss is a main cause of loose skin. A healthy weight loss program should meet all your nutritional requirements.

    Take a multivitamin. Making sure your body has all the nutrients it needs to repair and nourish itself is an important part of skin health.

    Lift weights. Building muscle is an important part of loose skin prevention. Muscle supports the skin and without much muscle, the skin on top will sag.

    Hydrate your skin by consuming plenty of water. Hydrated skin is healthy and supple. Water is essential to a body's functions, including skin repair.

    Apply lotion on your skin to keep it hydrated. Use an intensive moisturizer twice daily.
