Restylane is an injectable facial filler that temporarily smooths wrinkles and plumps lips. Similar to Botox, the injection is suitable for the hands and face and lasts 6 to 12 months. Those who would like to use Restylane must find a professional and consider their expectations.

Instructions

    1

Find a trained professional to administer Restylane. Cheaper is not better. It's important to thoroughly research dermatologists and ask your friends and/or family for recommendations.

    2

Discuss your expectations with a trained professional. While Restylane can smooth wrinkles and enhance features, it is important to understand what can be achieved and what is physically impossible.

    3

Set aside time to recover. After the procedure, you may experience redness, bruising and swelling for a few days. To reduce swelling, apply a cold compress to the area. Avoid aspirin and high doses of Vitamin E, as they can exacerbate swelling.

    4

Avoid sun exposure and tanning. Exposure to heat can worsen swelling and redness.

    5

Schedule a follow-up treatment. Restylane's effects generally last between 6 to 12 months. Talk to your dermatologist about follow-up facial fillings.
