How to Take Care of Your Skin in a Hot Humid Climate

When it's hot and humid outside it's difficult to feel clean. Even the driest skin can begin to feel oily and oily skin just feels downright drenched. Although humidity is good for our skin, extreme heat kicks the sebaceous glands into overdrive and oily skin naturally follows. When it's hot and humid, our pores tend to get clogged more frequently than they do in drier weather. Attacking these problems requires a good daily skin care regime.

Instructions

Use a clarifying facial and body wash. If your skin feels dry or tight after washing, then you should switch cleansers until you find one that is more gentle. The idea is not to strip your face completely of oil, and to not add too much oil with your skin care products.

Apply an alcohol-free facial toner after cleansing.

Immediately after showering apply a very lightweight moisturizer to your skin, while your skin is still wet. Lotions tend to be a lighter weight than creams. If your skin tends to be oily you may want to skip facial moisturizer in a hot, humid climate.

Apply a sunscreen if there is not one included in your moisturizer. Look for sunscreens that are oil-free and apply a very thin layer.

Use a facial scrub weekly to clean your pores.

Carry a packet of wet facial wipes with you and wipe your face frequently throughout the day.
