How to Make Chamomile, Rose and Orange Liquid Body Soap

Chamomile, rose and orange liquid body soap is a natural alternative to the expensive commercial products that can be found in retail stores all over the world. Making your own body soap will not only save you money, it will also limit your exposure to potentially dangerous additives and chemicals often found in store-bought body soaps. Chamomile, rose and orange body soap makes a lovely gift as well, especially if it is packaged with homemade shampoo, conditioner and moisturizing body lotion.

Instructions

Combine the distilled water and orange flower water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.

Remove the saucepan from heat and add the dried peppermint, chamomile, rose petals and orange flowers. Steep for one hour, then strain the herbs through a fine-mesh sieve, reserving the liquid in a small saucepan. Discard the used herbs.

Place the saucepan on the stove over low heat until warm, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the grated glycerin soap and stir with a wooden spoon or glass stirrer until liquefied.

Add the castor oil and vitamin E oil, then stir to combine. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, stirring regularly.

Transfer the chamomile, rose and orange liquid body soap to a glass bottle with a tight-fitting cap or to a plastic squeeze bottle once completely cooled.
