How to Give an Avocado Face Mask

Avocados benefit the skin in several ways. The high sterolin content reduces the signs of aging, including age spots. The flesh of the fruit moisturizes dehydrated skin and provides relief to the redness and itching associated with psoriasis and eczema. Giving a friend a homemade avocado mask provides her with all of the fruit's benefits -- and saves her the money she'd spend on a store-bought mask or a trip to the aesthetician.

Instructions

Cut a ripe avocado in half lengthwise with a sharp knife. A ripe avocado will be slightly firm when squeezed.

Pull out the avocado's pit and scoop out the flesh with a spoon.

Place the flesh into a medium-sized bowl and mash it with a fork.

Add one egg white, 2 tbsp. of witch hazel and 3 tbsp. of olive oil to the bowl.

Pour 1/4 cup of oatmeal into the bowl. Continue to add oatmeal until the mask takes on a tacky consistency that'll allow it to adhere to the skin.

Place your friend's hair into a ponytail. Pull any bangs back with a fabric headband and wrap a towel around her shoulders.

Apply a thick layer of the mask to her face. Allow it to remain for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it away with cool water.

Refrigerate the remainder of the mask in an airtight container for up to one week.
