How to Use Moroccan Oil on Your Skin

Moroccan oil is a skin care and edible oil made by Berber women in Morocco. The oil is from the seeds of the fruit of the argan tree, and also goes by the name argan oil. At least one clinical study, published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, notes that argan oil can help reduce oil in overly oily skin. Argan oil is rich in vitamins A and E, and contains 80 percent unsaturated essential fatty acids. Used neat or mixed with another oil, argan oil has helped nourish skin for centuries.

Instructions

Exfoliate the skin using a dry skin brush. This step will ensure that the dead skin cells have been sloughed off and your skin is ready for moisturizing. Shower if desired.

Mix argan oil with sesame oil. You can use argan oil neat, but it is expensive. The clinical study showing argan oil's effects on reducing oil in oily skin used argan oil mixed with sesame oil. Look for unrefined sesame oil. Unrefined sesame oil has a light color and very little odor. There is no set ratio for mixing the two oils.

Massage the oil into your skin. Argan oil absorbs into your skin easily. It leaves no greasy residue.
