You have a daily cleaning regimen, but you're not getting the results you want. The addition of astringent, or toner, to your repertoire may be the answer. This liquid cleanser works hard to cleanse skin, shrink the appearance of pores and tone skin to reduce ruddiness.

Instructions

    1

Choose an astringent from your local drugstore or beauty supply. Choose one with all natural ingredients. Avoid astringents with a high alcohol content as alcohol can strip oil from the skin and cause dryness.

    2

Start by cleansing the skin as usual. This may mean using a acne-preventing cleanser or scrubbing up with plain old soap and water. Either way, astringent works better on clean skin.

    3

Apply your astringent of choice to a cotton ball or washcloth. Concentrate on your T-zone (the strip from your forehead to the tip of your nose, on your chin and across your forehead). If you have other spots that are regularly oily, you may want to concentrate on these as well.

    4

Brush the astringent across the rest of your face lightly.

    5

Let the astringent dry on your face naturally.

    6

Follow up with an oil-free lotion to prevent dryness.

    7

Enjoy the new tone and evenness of your complexion!
