How to Get Rid of a Farmer's Tan

It has happened to all of us. You spend time outside on warm sunny days only to find later that you are sporting a major farmer's tan. Your face and part of your arms and legs have nice color, but the rest of your body is completely white. You don't need to spend money on tanning beds or sunless tanning lotions to fix your problem. Here's how to get rid of a farmer's tan.

Instructions

Choose something to wear that will allow sun to hit the areas of your body you want tanned.

Apply a high SPF sunscreen to the tanned portions of your body. This will prevent those areas from getting more color while you try to even out your tan.

Sit outside for a few minutes with no sunscreen on the parts of your body you want tanned. Be very careful not to burn yourself. You want to get a bit of color, but not a sunburn.

Put on a low SPF sunscreen to the white parts of your body after a few minutes in the sun.

Spend another 20 to 30 minutes in the sun, depending on your skin type. If you burn easily, limit your time in the sun to 15 minutes.

Repeat this process every day until your tan lines are gone.

Be aware of your clothing choices to avoid unwanted farmer's tans in the future.
