How to Make Cucumber and Lemon Facial Cleanser

Cucumber and lemon facial cleanser is a simple, easy-to-make homemade skin care product that renews damaged skin and removes harmful oil buildup. Homemade skin care products have other benefits as well. Homemade products often are less expensive than commercially available products and cosmetics, which often contain harmful and unnecessary additives and preservatives added to stabilize the product during the long shipping and shelving process. This facial cleanser maintains a shelf life of about 10 days when refrigerated.

Instructions

Chop half of a cucumber into small pieces and place in a food processor. Puree until smooth.

Strain the cucumber through a piece of muslin cloth, squeezing the liquid over a small bowl. Discard the cucumber flesh when all of the water is squeezed out.

Add 2 1/2 oz. each of vitamin E cream and cleansing lotion base, 4 drops each of elderflower tincture and bergamot essential oil, and 5 drops of lemon essential oil. Mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon to combine the ingredients.

Transfer the mixture to a clean glass jar. Store in the refrigerator for 24 hours before first use.
