Spray foam is used for insulation and to fill gaps in spaces around the interior and exterior of the home, but it's messy to work with, and it's not uncommon to get it on your hands. It is important to clean spray foam from your hands immediately, as it's much easier to remove wet foam than it is to remove hardened and cured spray foam.
Instructions
- 1
Wipe off as much foam as possible with a dry rag. Do this gently and carefully so you don't spread the foam further onto your hands.
2Moisten a rag with acetone nail polish remover. Wipe any remaining foam from your hands.
3Scrub your hands gently with a pumice stone if the spray foam has hardened onto the skin. Dip the pumice stone in warm, soapy water and rub it gently over the hardened spray foam. Continue doing this, dipping it in the soapy water frequently, until all of the foam is gone.
4Apply a generous amount of petroleum jelly to your hands once all of the spray foam has been removed. Put on rubber gloves and leave them on for about one hour. Remove the gloves and wash your hands with soapy water. This will restore any moisture lost during the removal process.
